Fort Frances – Fifty Cemetery Tombstones Desecrated

OPP have laid a number of charges in a stolen vehicle investigation

FORT FRANCES – The Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking the public’s assistance in the desecration of approximately 50 tombstones at the Fort Frances cemetery on King’s Highway.

Sometime between Friday, October 12, 201,8 and Thursday, October 12, 2018, unknown culprit(s) entered the Fort Frances Cemetery, and caused extensive damage to tombstones by knocking them over. Some of the tombstones are in excess of 100 years old. The value of the damages is yet to be determined.
