T’Wolves Putting 4-0 Undefeated Streak on the Line

THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – The Lakehead Thunderwolves will face a tough test when the team goes on the road for a game at Bemidji State this Saturday, with the opening face-off set for 6:07 pm CDT.

Previous results

Lakehead dominated Nipissing at the Fort William Gardens last weekend, downing the Lakers by scores of 5-2 and 6-1 to improve the Thunderwolves’ record to 4-0 this season, giving Lakehead its best start since 2009 when the Wolves came out of the gate with five straight wins.

This Saturday’s matchup will be the first game of the season for Bemidji State.

Offence clicking

The Thunderwolves have fired at least 50 shots at their opponents in every game so far this year, and have found the back of the net 22 times.

Balanced Attack

Picking up from where they left off last season, Scott Gall and Daniel Del Paggio are once again pacing the Wolves’ attack, but they’ve had plenty of help.

Of the 22 skaters that have seen playing time this year, 20 Thunderwolves have already had their names etched on the score sheet.

About the Beavers

Bemidji State capped the 2017-18 season at 16-14-8 overall to place fourth in the WCHA standings, but the Beavers were swept by underdog Michigan Tech in the opening round of the WCHA playoffs.

The 2018-19 Beavers have ten new faces on the roster; six forwards, three defencemen and one goaltender.  The nine players they lost represent 43% of the Beavers scoring from the previous campaign.

Bemidji’s top returning scoring threats are forwards Jay Dickman, Charlie Combs, Adam Brady and Gerry Fitzgerald.  Defenceman Justin Baudry adds more offence from the back end of the Beavers’ attack.
