That tasty Christmas dinner can be missedTHUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Professional Fire Fighters Association and The Salvation Army are offering a Thanksgiving Dinner to the lonely and needy in Thunder Bay.

On Sunday, October 7, 2018, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. the Thunder Bay Professional Fire Fighters Association will provide a turkey dinner with all the fixings at The Salvation Army Booth Centre, 545 Cumberland St. N. The dinner will take place in a festive Fall setting.

For 21 years, it has become a tradition for the Fire Fighters Association along with family members to provide the meal and then to serve at the dinner to make this a special day for those attending.

This generous contribution to our community from the Thunder Bay Professional Fire Fighters Association along with other supporters, Iron Range Bus Lines, and Lowerys is much appreciated by The Salvation Army and those who will partake in this special Thanksgiving celebration.

Poverty and homelessness are ongoing problems in Thunder Bay. “We are so pleased to be able to host this special Thanksgiving dinner for those who wouldn’t be able to have one otherwise. It’s only possible because of partnerships with such caring people in our community like the Thunder Bay Professional Fire Fighters Association and others who take time out of their own festivities to help their neighbours,” said Major Lori Mitchell, Executive Director of The Salvation Army Community & Residential Services.

The dinner is offered free to any who are in need or feeling lonely. We invite them to come and enjoy the dinner that is especially put on in their honour. A shuttle service from City Hall and the Water St. Terminal is available starting at 11:45 a.m. at City Hall.
