Thunder Bay Police Service Unit 200THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police dealt with a number of instances over the weekend. Police report on a couple of arrests, in a robbery and a stolen vehicle. A police unit was also involved in an accident on the weekend, thankfully there were no serious injuries.

Robbery Arrest

A 31-year-old Thunder Bay man was arrested on September 24, 2018, just after noon on May Street in relation to the robbery at the Mac’s Convenience Store on September 17, 2018.

Gavin Paul Laduke has been charged with Robbery, Disguise with Intent and Breach of Probation. He appeared in court this morning and was remanded into custody.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered and Male Arrested

A vehicle that was reported stolen to the TBPS on September 22, 2018, was observed by an officer traveling on May Street on May 23, 2018, around 1:45 p.m.

The plain clothed officer in an unmarked car followed the vehicle until a mark police cruiser could assist in stopping the vehicle. The drive of the stolen vehicle entered a laneway off Cumming Street and exited the vehicle. Uniformed officers pursued the male on foot and located him hiding in a yard and he was arrested by officers.

Sagatay Clifford Tait, 36-years-old of Thunder Bay has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $5000. He appeared in court this morning and was remanded into custody.
