Manhunt Ends in Arrest of Man Running from OPP in Wabigoon

OPP have laid a number of charges in a stolen vehicle investigation

WABIGOON – On Friday, September 14, 2018, at approximately 5:27 a.m.(central time), Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen pickup truck westbound on Hwy 11-17 from Ignace.

Members of the Dryden (OPP) located the vehicle in Dinorwic and attempted a traffic stop.  The vehicle failed to stop for police and continued westbound at a high rate of speed. The suspect vehicle made contact with several vehicles including a police cruiser.  The vehicle eventually lost control and left the roadway near Wabigoon First Nation. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

At 10:40 am members of the North West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) & the OPP Canine Unit located the subject and he was subsequently arrested.  Dryden OPP and OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are on scene assisting with the investigation.
