DRYDEN – WEATHER – It is back to the heat! From English River out to Vermilion Bay Environment Canada has declared

Heat Warning in effect for:

  • Dryden – Vermilion Bay
  • Ignace – English River

High temperatures expected into the weekend.

A hot air mass over the American Mid-West is expected to arrive Friday and remain in place through the weekend. Afternoon temperatures near 30 with humidex values in the low to mid-thirties are expected. Overnight lows in the upper teens will provide little relief from the heat. A cold front is forecast to move through the area Sunday ushering in cooler temperatures and lower humidity.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
