THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – Staal Foundation Open organizers are actively recruiting for volunteers and caddies to serve during the PGA event at Whitewater Golf Club July9-15.

BDO, one of the nation’s leading providers of assurance, accounting, tax and advisory services, has come on board as the Volunteer Sponsor providing support to over 500 people who will serve in a variety of capacities during the week.

“We are extremely pleased to come on board, supporting the volunteers for this premier event,“ says Blair Smith, Office Managing Partner. “Our firm is committed to our community and dedicated to participating in events that bring positive experience and exposure to our part of the world.”

Volunteer Coordinator, Gloria Sherban, congratulates BDO on coming onboard and reminds people to register. Long-time volunteer Marvin Pupeza says that the value of participation is significant. “I have been here since the first year. It is hard to explain how wonderful it is to be a part of this year after year, but it is definitely rewarding and lots of fun. I encourage anyone who is interested to come on board. Golf knowledge and experience isn’t necessary,” says Pupeza.

Additional sponsors have been announced

“It is definitely the reputation of the event that brings sponsors back year after year,” says Tournament Director Ken Boshcoff.

Volunteers can register at staalopen.ca/get-involved.
