Attempted Robbery at Court Street Safeway

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – THUNDER Bay Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on April 17, 2018, at 4:45 pm at the Safeway located on Court Street.

The report indicated that two males attended the checkout area and caused a commotion. In the process, one male grabbed the 47-year-old female cashier and attempted to money out of the cash drawer. She was able to get control of the till. As the suspects were attempting to flee, a 54-year-old female employee attempted to block their exit and was pushed. The suspect fled on foot northbound on Court Street.

The first suspect is described as a tall Indigenous male. The second suspect is described as a Caucasian male who is five feet tall with a slim build. He was wearing black glasses, black jacket, and a black cap.
