Sportop Midget AA Queens Fall to St Mary’s Academy Flames

WINNIPEG, MB — The Sportop Midget AA Queens suffered their first loss Friday morning to the St Mary’s Academy Flames with a 3-0 loss. Still looking to earn their playoff spot for Saturday, the Queens picked up their game in an afternoon tilt with the Balmoral Hall Blazers. Allyson Lesperance led the charge scoring two goals in the first period. Ellen Svane added another to extend the lead to 3-0. In the second, Molly Kunnas piled on another goal for Thunder Bay before Lesperance completed the hat trick. Mackenzie Lehto had three assists in the game and goalie Aden Johnson stopped 33 of 34 shots en route to a 5-1 victory.

The Sportop Queens will find out soon where they rank for Saturday.
