Assault Charges Follow Altercation in Whitesand First Nation

ARMSTRONG – On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at approximately 11:23 pm, officers from the Armstrong Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault with a weapon that occurred at a residence on Whitesand First Nation.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was flown to the hospital in Thunder Bay by air ambulance.

A 41-year-old female from Whitesand First Nation was arrested and charged with:

-Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code.

She has been remanded into custody to the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre.
