QUEENS PARK – Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown is facing serious sex allegations after two women have come forward alleging that the politician had acted inappropriately toward them.

Brown has denied the allegations which were uncovered by CTV News.

“First I want to say these allegations are false. Categorically untrue. Every one of them. I will defend myself as hard as I can, with all means at my disposal. It’s never okay. It’s never okay for anybody — for anyone — to feel they have been a victim of sexual harassment, or feel threatened in any way. Let me make this clear: a safe and respectful society is what we expect and deserve,” said Brown at a news conference organized after the report broke.

The PC Party has following the allegations saw a number of key advisors to Brown resign from their jobs. Reports are that PC Party campaign Manager Andrew Boddington, Brown’s Chief of Staff Alykhan Velshi, and PC Party Deputy Campaign Manager Dan Robertston have stepped down.released a joint statement saying: “earlier today, all three of us became aware of allegations about Patrick Brown. After speaking with him, our advice was that he should resign as Ontario PC Party leader. He did not accept that advice.”

The three issued a joint statement saying,  “Earlier today, all three of us became aware of allegations about Patrick Brown. After speaking with him, our advice was that he should resign as Ontario PC Party leader. He did not accept that advice.”

Andrea Horwath is calling for the Progressive Conservative Party leader to resign. “My thoughts are with the brave young women who have spoken out to describe horrible, degrading and unsafe experiences they say happened at the hands of Patrick Brown. I’m disgusted and disturbed by these sexual misconduct allegations.

“Patrick Brown must resign, immediately. He deserves his day in court, but no person can lead a political party in this province with allegations like these hanging over his head,” concludes Horwath.

The federal Conservative Party issued a statement tonight: “Sexual misconduct and sexual harassment have no place in Canadian society, especially within our political system.

“I understand how difficult it can be for women to come forward under these circumstances.

“The allegations against the Leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservatives are extremely serious and should be investigated fully.”

Brown is scheduled to me in Thunder Bay next week for a public meeting.
