Thunderwolves Men’s Basketball Fall to Western Mustangs

LONDON – The Lakehead men’s basketball team (1-12) was defeated 84-75 by the Western Mustangs (7-6) in their first game of the weekend doubleheader in London, ON.
The Thunderwolves opened the first quarter strong with an early lead on the Mustangs. Lakehead had a 25-19 advantage after the first ten minutes but the Wolves struggled a little in the second as Western took back the lead at the half (45-39).
Western only outscored the Wolves 39-36 in the second half, but Lakehead was unable to close the gap, ultimately losing 84-75.
“I thought we competed but really hurt ourselves with our consistency on the defensive glass and by putting Western on the free throw line. We get another shot tomorrow” – Coach Ryan Thomson
Mor Menashe led the Thunderwolves with 22 points, 3 steals and 3 assists and Quincy Johnson put up 11. The rest of the points were distributed amongst the team with every single player contributing at least one basket.
The Wolves face the Mustangs again tomorrow at 8:00 pm.
