THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – The weather advisory for the City of Thunder Bay is continued.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay

Areas close to the western shore of Lake Superior including the city of Thunder Bay received some snow during the night, although there is a lull in the activity early this morning.

However, snow heavy at times will move into the area this morning and taper off later this afternoon. A total snowfall accumulation of 10 to 15 cm appears likely. Gusty northeast winds to 50 km/h may result in areas of local blowing snow as well.

These regions are on the edge of the heaviest snow. For areas to the west, north and northeast of the city, snowfall warnings are in effect with 15 to 25 cm possible.

Motorists should be prepared for hazardous winter driving conditions. Travel plans should be adjusted appropriately.
