THUNDER BAY, ON – The Sportop Midget AA Queens, opened their three-game series with Gentry Academy Friday night at Fort William First Nations Arena. Gentry opened the scoring early in the first and held the lead until late in the second when Jamie Ricklefs tied the game on a setup from Kaylee Grosjean and Lucy Newman.

Gentry regained the lead just minutes later. The Queens’ Vanessa Nicholl would respond early in the first to tie the game back up 2-2. Regulation solved nothing as the game went a shootout where Gentry would prevail winning game one.

Game two takes place Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm. Gentry will then play an exhibition game against the Toppers Pizza Midget A Queens Saturday night at 8:00 pm
