THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Union Gas employees and retirees once again showed their generous nature by raising $32,598 for United Way Thunder Bay in 2017.

“We’re proud to support the commitment that United Way has in this community,” said Nick Klip, district manager Northwest, Union Gas. “We share that commitment at Union Gas and we work hard to be good neighbours in more than 400 communities we serve across Ontario.”

The company’s United Way theme, “We Give Today, To Improve Tomorrow,” reflects the heart of the campaign, and it also reflects employees’ spirit of giving. Numerous fundraising events led by employees were held throughout the year to raise money. Union Gas matches each individual employee and retiree donation dollar for dollar, and those matching dollars will go to our local United Way.

“A very heartfelt thank you to Union Gas and all area employees for their participation in the United Way of Thunder Bays’ 2017 employee giving campaign. We are overwhelmed with joy to hear of the success of this year’s employee campaign and appreciate all of the volunteers and participants who gave generously to our cause,” said Jodie Wilson, campaign director, United Way Thunder Bay.  “Programs and services funded by your contributions to the United Way of Thunder Bay are for all people of all ages in all stages of life in Thunder Bay and region. You should be very proud of the community support you are demonstrating collectively as Union Gas Employees. Your donations are not only changing lives, they are saving lives.”

Funds will go to support United Way Thunder Bay agencies and programs that address the needs of communities they service with the mission to improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action.
