Security Guard Assaulted in Shopper’s Drug Mart Incident

THUNDER BAY – An incident at a Memorial Avenue drug store resulted in an assault of store’s security guard early Sunday morning.

TBPS Uniform Patrol officers responded to a 911 call from the Shoppers Drug Mart at 1186 Memorial Avenue at approximately 3:40 am on November 19, 2017. It was reported that a male shoplifter was struggling with a security guard outside of the store. The accused was arrested by police upon their arrival. It is alleged that the male security guard received a minor injury from a knife used by the accused during the confrontation.

48-year-old Jack Richard MILLER of Thunder Bay remains in custody with a future court date. He has been charged with:

· CC 344(1)(b) Robbery
· CC 267(a) Assault With a Weapon
