Thunder Bay – SPORTS – The Lakehead men’s basketball team (0-3) lost, 82-61, to the Laurentian Voyageurs (3-0) in the Thunderdome tonight.
Slow start for the Wolves as they trailed 28-14 after the first quarter. Lakehead bounced back in the second, outscoring the Voyageurs 17-16 and continued to work hard in the third, but in the end the Wolves were unable to close the gap.
“Guys battled hard tonight. We needed some shots to fall but they didn’t. Time to focus on Nipissing now,” says Coach Manny Furtado.
Lakehead shot 19% from the three compared to Laurentians’ 43%.
Nick Burke led the Wolves with 13 points and Mor Menashe and Jack Bull put up 11 points each.
The Thunderwolves will play the Nipissing Lakers tomorrow at 8pm.
