THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Rain is in the forecast. Environment Canada has issued Special Weather Statements for Thunder Bay,
Special weather statement in effect for:
- City of Thunder Bay
- Geraldton – Longlac – Caramat
- Atikokan – Fort Frances – Quetico
- Nipigon – Marathon – Superior North
- Superior West
An area of showers and thunderstorms is expected to develop this evening over Minnesota and then move over areas northwest of Lake Superior. Significant rainfall amounts of 15 to 40 millimetres are likely with amounts up to 50 millimetres possible by Tuesday afternoon.
Environment Canada will continue to monitor this situation closely. A rainfall warning may be issued if rainfall amounts are forecast to exceed 50 millimetres.
