Sioux Lookout OPP Officer Faces Charges

SIOUX LOOKOUT – On September 8, 2017, investigators with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Professional Standards Bureau and the North West Region Crime Unit charged an OPP officer as a result of an investigation into an incident that occurred while the member was off duty.

The Provincial Constable, a 10 year veteran, assigned to the Sioux Lookout Detachment has been charged with:

  • Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC); and with
  • Assault with a Weapon contrary to section 267(a) of the CC.

He has been suspended from duty with pay.

Additionally, a 37 year old female also of Sioux Lookout has been charged with:

  • Assault contrary to section 266 as per the CC (x 2); and with
  • Assault with a Weapon contrary to section 267(a) as per the CC.

Both have been scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sioux Lookout on October 3, 2017. Their names are not being released in order to protect the identity of the victims.
