Traffic Stop Near Dryden Nets Lots of Charges

DRYDEN – On August 23, 2017 at approximately 4:12PM CDT, Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act Offence that occurred on Thunder Lake Road, City of Dryden.

As a result of the vehicle stop, the following people have been charged with the following offences:

Sherri JOLICOEUR, 38 years old of Lake of the Woods Township, Sleeman, ON

1. Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

2. Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

3. Resist Arrest contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code.

4. Fail to Comply with a Recognizance contrary to Section 145(3) of the Criminal Code.

Tyler LYSY, 41 years old of Dryden, ON

1. Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

2. Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

3. Resist Arrest contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code.

4. Adult Uttering Threats to cause death or bodily harm X 2 contrary to Section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

5. Mischief Under $5000.00 contrary to Section 430(4) of the Criminal Code.

6. Assault a Peace Officer X 2 contrary to Section 270(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Jory SMITH, 28 years old of Kenora, ON

1. Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

2. Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

3. Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code.

4. Fail to Comply with Recognizance X 2 contrary to Section 145(3) of the Criminal Code.

All three accused will appear in court on August 24, 2017 to answer to the charges.
