OPP and Treaty Three Police Arrest Two Women for Drug Trafficking

KENORA – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Kenora OPP Community Street Crime Unit, in partnership with the Treaty Three Police, the OPP Organized Crime and Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), members of the Kenora OPP Detachment, and the OPP Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau have charged two people with drug related charges following an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the City of Kenora.

On Thursday, August 17, 2017 shortly after 1:00PM CDT, as a result of an ongoing investigation, police arrested two females in the north end of Kenora. The women were searched at the scene and found to be in possession of approximately 4 grams of Methamphetamine, just over 1 gram of Crack Cocaine, a small amount of marihuana, Canadian Currency and other items associated with the drug trafficking trade. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be approximately $1400.00.

As a result of this investigation, police have charged the following people:

33 year old Vanessa WIRCH of no fixed address has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Other Drugs s. 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Cocaine s. 5(2) CDSA
  • Trafficking in Schedule I Substance-Methamphetamines (Crystal Meth) s. 5(1) CDSA
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000- s. 354(1) (a) Criminal Code (CC).
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon s. 90 CC

She has is to attend Kenora Court on September 7, 2017 to answer to the charges.

63 year old Linda KING of Kenora has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Other Drugs s. 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Cocaine s. 5(2) CDSA.
  • Trafficking in Schedule I Substance-Methamphetamines (Crystal Meth) s. 5(1) CDSA.
  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance-Cannabis Marihuana-under 30 grams s. 4(1) CDSA.

She has been released to appear in Kenora court on September 21, 2017 to answer to the charges.
