THUNDER BAY – OPP Report – The message that alcohol and driving or boating seems to just not sink in for everyone.

On Friday, August 18, 2017 at approximately 10:27pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Pike Lake Road in Gorham Township. The driver of a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), according to the OPP, went into a ditch on Pike Lake Road. There were no injuries reported.

Once speaking with the driver, officers suspected that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further tests.

Brian AILEY, a forty-six-year-old from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with:

-Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code,

-Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code,

Ailey is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on October 3, 2017 to answer to the charges.
