THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – What the OPP are calling a very serious accident closed the road at the Twin City Crossroads and Arthur Street last night. At about 7:15PM EDT according to the OPP a collision between a pick-up truck and a motorcycle resulted in two people being sent to hospital.
The highway intersection was closed.
The OPP Traffic Investigation team held the site for their investigation. The roadway has since re-opened.
There are no further details.
The OPP report that the male driver and female passenger on the motorcycle were confirmed dead at the scene. They have been identified as Mario JACOB (49) and Renata MISZTAL (52), both of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
In a media statement this morning the OPP simply say that the highway has been re-opened.
