THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – Thunder Bay Police was on scene just north of Marina Park this morning. Two police units, the Thunder Bay Police Forensics unit are on scene after the discovery of a body along the shore of Lake Superior just south of McVicar’s Creek.

Police report in a media release that the call came in at approximately 8:40AM EDT. Both Police and EMS units received a 911 call and responded.

Police are tight mouthed about the scene. Officers state they are protecting the scene at this time.

The body is of a male. The circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body are part of a very preliminary investigation and police will update as information comes in.
