SIOUX LOOKOUT – Wasaya has announced the airline is launching new and enhanced additions to the airline’s route network. Wasaya will increase frequency to Winnipeg from Sioux Lookout, and initiate new twice daily service to Sandy Lake and Pikangikum First Nations from Winnipeg.

“We’ve brought another aircraft online to connect Winnipeg to our ownership communities providing new non-stop flights to Sandy Lake and Pikangikum First Nations,” said Michael Rodyniuk, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wasaya Group Inc. “The people of Sandy Lake and Pikangikum First Nations are owners of Wasaya needing reliable, comfortable and affordable transportation to Winnipeg. We start flying August 14th with our spacious, modern, twin turbine Beechcraft 1900D airliner.”

Wasaya, is the only airline offering nonstop service between Sioux Lookout and Winnipeg. “The response to our initial non-stop flight from Sioux Lookout to Winnipeg has been positive,” said Rodyniuk. “We hear the market loud and clear, nonstop flights are a hit, adding another frequency connecting to our network will enhance our product for day trippers providing our guests more options between our hub cities of Thunder Bay, Sioux Lookout and now established and expanding in Winnipeg”.
