Thunder Bay Police Investigate Arson

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Another case of arson on the southside of Thunder Bay overnight. The Pita Pit on Arthur Street West was the target of the attempted arson.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a business located at 500 Arthur Street West to deal with a small fire outside the building on Tuesday, July 4 at about 03:30AM EDT.

When the officers arrived they quickly extinguished the fire.

Further investigation resulted in the discovery of a beer bottle filled with gasoline that was lit on fire and thrown at the window of the business.

The outer glass to the window was broken but the bottle rebounded to the ground outside.

A witness observed two males wearing hoodies running east in the laneway behind the building immediately after the incident. The area was checked with negative results.
