WAWA – On Sunday May 28, 2017, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment received a complaint in relation to a female who had been sexually assaulted.
Members of the Superior East Crime Unit assisted with the investigation.
As a result two Wawa males aged 22 and 20 have been arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Adult Gang Sexual Assault contrary to section 272(1)(d) of the CC
- Adult Sexual Assault on a person Under 16 years of age contrary to section 271 of the CC
- Adult Sexual Interference with a person under 16 years of age contrary to section 151 of the CC
- Adult Invitation to Sexual Touching under 16 years of age contrary to section 152 of the CC
Both accused were remanded in custody pending a bail hearing which will be held on Wednesday May 31st, 2017.
