Body Found in McIntyre River

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Police Service are currently investigating the death of a male who was located in the McIntyre River just before 6:00 p.m. on May 18, 2017.

The Ontario Provincial Police Underwater Search and Recovery Unit located and recovered the deceased in the McIntyre River near Island Drive.

The TBPS Criminal Investigations Branch have secured the scene and are awaiting the results of the postmortem. The identity of the male has not been confirmed at this time.

TBPS Identification unit and Criminal Investigations unit are continuing to investigate.
