THUNDER BAY – UPDATE – It appears the real message is stay off the ice. Thunder Bay Police Service has found that reports of a woman not a male as earlier reported on NNL, fell through the ice on the McIntyre River at around 5:00PM EDT yesterday.

Police report that they were contacted last evening by a male who also witnessed a person fall thru the ice on the Neebing McIntyre Floodway during the same time span and in in the area of the search. He proceeded to go to the river to render assistance but saw that she was already out of the ice and leaving the area with another person.

The Thunder Bay Police wish to thank the community for assisting with information about this incident.

A strong caution is being issued to STAY OFF THE ICE as it is very volatile and unpredictable with the increasingly warm weather.
