Woman Faces Charges After Assaulting Taxi Driver

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Service report that a thirty-seven-year-old female appeared in court over the weekend after being arrested and charged for assaulting a taxi driver.

The individual was, according to a media release from police picked up by the taxi at approximately 2:30AM EDT on March 12, 2017 from a Dawson Road location and driven to a Red River Road location.

The female attempted to leave without paying for the ride. An argument began and the female who was sitting the backseat began assaulting the fifty-six-year old-male driver. The driver was able to radio for help. Another taxi and police arrived within minutes and the female was taken into custody.

Ashley Joy Pangrac now faces charges of Assault Causing Bodily Harm, and Transportation Fraud.

Pangrac has appeared in court and has been released with a future court date.
