Body of Missing Rocky Bay Man Recovered

NIPIGON – The body on one of the two missing snowmobilers has been recovered from Lake Nipigon. The Ontario Provincial police had earlier reported that two men were missing on the lake after family reported them missing..

The OPP Underwater Search and Rescue team located the body of fifty-one-year old Gerald Thompson from Rocky Bay First Nation on Sunday. The search team deployed a helicopter to the scene an on Saturday located a submerged snow machine in the lake. They also reported seeing a second set of tracks leading to another hole in the lake ice.

Forty-five-year-old Nathaniel Thompson is also still missing as searchers continue to look for him.
