International Ski Races at Loch Lomond

Federation International Ski (FIS) Series –  Slalom Race
Thursday January 26 – 10:00pm to 3:pm at Loch Lomond

THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – The Lake Superior Division Alpine along with its member clubs Norwesters Alpine Club and Port Arthur Ski Club are hosting International Ski Federation Slalom Races at Loch Lomond Thursday January 26th.

Top ranked age group Male and Female FIS skiers from Colorado, Minnesota, BC, Ontario and Quebec will be competing.  Great Britain, Mexico and Spain will also be represented.  Thunder Bay will be fielding a team of 4 male athletes.

Course Inspection and warm-up begins at 8:00am with competition starting at 9:00am.  Races will take place on the challenging “Giant” ski run immediately in front of the ski lodge at Loch Lomond.  Races will be complete by 3:00pm with awards presentations happening in front of the ski lodge around 3:30pm

Following the Thunder Bay Races all skiers will move on to Spirit Mountain in Duluth MN for the famous Atmore Cup FIS races on Saturday and then Monday to Lutsen Moutain in Duluth.

Combined results will be tabulated over both Canadian and US events.  Overall winners will be presented the Superior Can Am Series Trophy in U19 and Open categories for Men and Women.
