ATTAWAPISKAT – A well respected Attawapiskat community Elder, and long-serving Canadian Ranger, James Carpenter has passed away.
“On behalf of the Chiefs of Ontario, I extend deep condolences to the Muskegowuk People and their respective Nations at the passing of a renowned Elder James Carpenter.
“Names synonymous with Nation, Community, Wisdom and Love for the People — are Elders like Mr Carpenter, who are known and loved by the masses.
“We extend prayers, thoughts and reflections of peace and comfort upon the community and families of the Mushkegowuk People affected by this great loss during this time,” says Isadore Day, Wiindawtegowinini, Ontario Regional Chief.
