THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday that English River Miners forward Austin Kuhn has been named the Play It Again Sports player of the week for the period ending Oct. 30.

In four consecutive road games this past week the 20-year-old from Slave Lake, Alta., had goals in each of them helping the No. 12 Canadian Junior Hockey League-ranked Miners pickup six out of a possible eight points.

Among his tally total was supplying the game-winner Sunday evening as English River capped off their road swing with a triumph at Thief River Falls.

Kuhn also collected an assist in a triumph over the Norskies in that club’s home opener Friday.

Currently riding a six-game point streak, Kuhn has also scored in five consecutive contests, which is the highest active goal streak in the SIJHL.

On the season the Miners’ forward is averaging a point-per-game with 13 in as many outings, including seven markers.

Also earning consideration for Play It Again Sports player of the week honours were the following:

Patrick Zubick, (G) Dryden GM Ice Dogs; Nathaniel Dupuis, (G) Thunder Bay North Stars; Keaton Huot, (F) Thief River Falls Norskies; Jack Stensgard (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers and Matt Tustin (F) Fort Frances Lakers.
