THUNDER BAY – NEWS – The Staal Foundation Open presented by Tbaytel are making a call for the need of volunteers and caddies for this year’s event scheduled for July 11th to 17th, 2016.  Volunteers have long been the backbone of any major event undertaking and the Staal Foundation Open is no different.  The week-long event still needs approximately 70 volunteers to participate in this exciting event, which will raise money for local charities and create an economic impact for Thunder Bay and the region.

Fun and Great Opportunity

A variety of volunteer roles are available and golf experience is NOT a prerequisite – just a willingness to meet new people in a fun environment and be available for 3 or more shifts during the Tournament Week of July 11th to 17th.  Volunteering and caddying are fun ways to give back to the community, meet new people, make new friends and get “inside the ropes” with the up and coming stars of the PGA TOUR.  Online registration and more information can be found at https://www.staalopen.ca (Click on the “Get Involved” tab.) The final day to resister to be a Staal Foundation Open Volunteer is June 21st – only 5 days away! Caddie registrations will continue to be accepted.  Event volunteers are sponsored by Janzen’s Pharmacy.   Fort William Historical Park is the event’s official caddie partner.

Opening ceremonies for the Staal Foundation Open are scheduled for Monday July 11th, followed by the Pandora Intercity Summer Classic, Power Golf & Trick Show and the Porter Celebrity Pro-Am. Also families and kids will enjoy the opening of the Live Better by Janzen’s Interactive Zone. Official tournament play begins on Thursday July 14th. A full schedule of activities is available online at: staalopen.ca.
