OPP Charge Suspect in Wawa Sexual Assault Investigation

WAWA – The Superior East Wawa detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged a forty-three-year-old Sault Ste. Marie man after a report of a sexual assault at a residence in Wawa.

Police state, “On Monday May 30, 2016 at approximately 10:40 pm members of the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a sexual assault incident at a Wawa residence”.

  • The accused was transported to Sault Ste Marie Ontario for bail hearing.

After their investigation, police have arrested and charged the suspect with the following offences;

  • Adult- Sexual Interference with a person under 16 years of age contrary to section 151 of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Adult- Invitation to Sexual Touching under 16 years of age contrary to section 152 of the C.C.C
  • Adult- Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 years of age contrary to section 271 of the C.C.C.
