THUNDER BAY – AVIATION – Effective September 28, 2015, Bearskin Airlines will add up to 23 new nonstop flights weekly between its Sudbury Airport hub and Timmins, North Bay, Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay. An additional 37 new connecting opportunities arising from increased nonstop service will provide a total of 60 new weekly flight options between Northern Ontario’s 5 largest cities.

Timmins and North Bay will see the largest increase in service, essentially doubling weekday service to and from Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay. Weekly connecting opportunities between Red Lake, Sioux Lookout, Kenora, Dryden, Fort Frances and Timmins/North Bay will also increase by 7 flights each week.

“This is a significant expansion of our service, ” commented Ron Hell, Director of Marketing and Sales, ” Demand for our service in NE Ontario has been growing as we continue to evolve our fares strategy to be more competitive in the marketplace. In addition, we are the only airline serving these markets that does not charge for your first checked bag, providing for saving up to $35 each way.”

Bearskin Airline’s fares strategy has been evolving over the last 18 months with reductions up to 60% on Fixed Fares more than a year ago, followed by reductions on Flex Fares throughout the last 12 months and further reductions on its highest level Liberty Fares coinciding with increased service on Sept 28th.

Bearskin Airlines’ direct service and participation in the Aeroplan Frequent Flyer Program are geared to serving the business community who commute regularly between Northern Ontario’s major cities and smaller communities. Bearskin’s direct, same aircraft service and connecting service between Northern Ontario’s 5 largest cities can save you up to 8 hours on a return trip as compared to connecting via Toronto. No other airline offers faster service.
