Thunder Bay Chief of Police to be honoured in Ottawa

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Hot and humid weather over the weekend appears to have brought out the worst in some people. Thunder Bay Police report that there were two incidents overnight that they are continuing to investigate.

There was an assault reported to Thunder Bay Police that happened on Brodie Street. Thunder Bay Police report that the incident was likely part of a robbery attempt.

A second report came to police at an address at South Vickers Street were a robbery and assault led to a man being apparently beaten and robbed. That incident was reported at 03:00AM to Police.

On August 14th, police were called at 07:51AM to an incident in the 400 Block of George Street. There was an assault reported. There was another assault in the 400 Block of George Street at 2:06PM.

Over the weekend, there were a number of incidents – including a fight on Victoria Avenue East that apparently started inside a licenced establishment and then continued out into the street. On August 15th at 02:31AM police responded to an incident in the 500 Block of Victoria Avenue East that involved weapons. On August 17th at 01:31AM Police responded to an assault call in the same area which included liquor offenses and a disturbing the peace call.
