THUNDER BAY – ROADS UPDATE –The ongoing reconstruction project on Arthur Street will require the closure of the intersection of Arthur and Edward streets for several hours at a time, from Thursday, June 18 to Saturday, June 20.

On Thursday, the intersection will close at 9 am for milling, which is the removal of the old top lift of asphalt in preparation for repaving. The work is expected to last about three hours.

Repaving of the intersection is currently scheduled to take place over several hours on Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20.

Traffic heading northbound on Edward Street will have limited access to the intersection during the work period, but will be required to turn right onto Arthur Street. No other access will be available, and the intersection will be closed to all through traffic.

The construction schedule is subject to change, as various factors – such as weather – can have an impact on project timelines.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible, and those travelling in the area are asked to obey all posted signage. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to invest in and improve our City infrastructure for citizens.
