THUNDER BAY – Tony Mcguire from They Media, Kateri Skaarup the COO of Skaarup Construction and Derek Fox a Lawyer were the special youth leaders at the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce Aboriginal Partnership Exchange in Thunder Bay in June 2015.

The trio of engaging youth leaders stopped by the NetNewsLedger studio for a discussion of issues, and a strong message for young people of all ages.

From their diverse backgrounds, there are some common threads – overcoming obstacles, never giving up, trying hard, and sharing their stories. Always work to follow your dream.

Overcome Obstacles – never give up!

Tony Mcguire is a film maker, videographer, and story teller and sharer who is the force behind They Media. Kateri Skaarup is the Chief Operating Officer at Skaarup Construction, Thunder Bay’s voice of Strongman competitions and active in the SHIFT Network of young professional in Thunder Bay. Derek Fox is a lawyer, writer, and active in the First Nations communities.

The interview, staged in three parts, offers insights into how these young leaders have continued to work toward their goals and dreams.

Tony, Kateri, and Derek shared how it wasn’t always easy, and that while they are all sharing successes now, they all shared challenges growing up.
