THUNDER BAY – ROAD CLOSURES – A watermain break at the corner of Court Street and Stephens Street have traffic and water for homes in the area disrupted. The City advises that repairs to at the broken water main are expected to be completed by this evening.
The break has resulted in water service to the area being temporarily shut off; about 25 homes are affected. Service is expected to be restored by this evening.
Cold weather coupled with low snow coverage is allowing frost to sink deeper into the ground. That is likely to cause watermain breaks.
