Thunder Bay Queens Womeen's HockeyDULUTH, Minn. – The Thunder Bay RBC Dominion Securities bantam AA Queens began a three-game weekend set in Duluth in impressive style posting a pair of victories Saturday.

Thunder Bay began by defeating the Grand Rapid Greenway Lightning 5-2 Saturday afternoon before blasting the Duluth Icebreakers 14-0 in the night cap.

Against the Lightning, Allyson Lesperance paced the Queens offensively notching a hat trick while Brooke Herman and Victoria Zieroth supplied singles.

Vanessa Nicholl and Karadyn Kiviaho also chipped in with two assists apiece.

Makenna Burke made eight saves to record the win in net for Thunder By, who fired 50 shots at the Lightning net.

In the evening contest the Queens scored six times in the opening period and never looked back as they rolled over Duluth.

Zieroth had three markers and a pair of assists while Herman tacked on three tallies of her own vs. the Icebreakers.

Molly Kunnas scored two and added a pair of helpers with Kiviaho notching a goal and setting up three others to chip in offensively with Lesperence adding a goal and an assist.

Ellen Svane, Carly Hennessey, Victoria Darosa and Nicholl supplied the other markers in the romp.

Josée Robinson registered the shutout in the one-sided victory.

The Queens conclude game action Sunday as they meet the Wayzata Trojans at 11 a.m.

This will be a tune-up for the bantam AA squad as they prepare to compete in the upcoming Bauer World Hockey Invite Nov. 14-16 in Detroit, Michigan.
