Jim Mauro Concerned About Crime in Northwood

THUNDER BAY – POLITICS – Jim Mauro is running in a very busy and engaged Northwood Ward against incumbent Mark Bentz, and challengers Shelby Ch’ng and Frank Armiento. Mauro shares what he says are the solutions to key issues in the ward, and in the city. Crime Mauro states is the key issue in Northwood Ward.

Mauro is also deeply worried about youth in Northwood, in particular the very young.

The Northwood candidate points to the Best Start Program where the young people in Northwood have seen their test scores fall drastically over the past number of years.

“Since 2006, Northwood has seen the second largest increase in at risk children, and Northwood has the highest level of at risk children in the city,” stated Mauro. “Council was presented this information after it was compiled in 2012. This issue is not even being discussed this election”.
