Thunder Bay Police Kept Busy

THUNDER BAY – Drive defensively – a message that everyone hears. Today, a motor vehicle accident on Red River Road shut down traffic during the afternoon drive home. The accident, between a Ford truck and a white car brought out Thunder Bay Police, Emergency Services and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue.

Traffic accidents represent a major number of the calls that Thunder Bay Police respond to on a daily basis.

Often it is traffic accidents that top the alcohol and drug calls that Thunder Bay Police deal with.

Over the past forty-eight hours, there were five vehicle thefts reported to police, two weapons offenses, and thirty-one calls for Quality of Life.

Thunder Bay Police also dealt with six assaults.

Thunder Bay Police are continuing the investigation into the homicide at Silver City on Friday. Silver City has garnered a great deal of positive good will in Thunder Bay over the company’s decision to close the theatre on Saturday night for the Vigil that was hosted by family, friends and school officials along with several hundred residents of the community.
