THUNDER BAY – Mayor Keith Hobbs is hopeful that retail giant Costco will locate here in Thunder Bay. The Mayor states that the economic benefit that Costco could bring to Thunder Bay in terms of jobs, and in terms of bringing in visitors to the city who now shop south of the border would help the local economy.

Mayor Hobbs Excited over Costco


The Mayor and other members of Council attending the CEDC Business Starter program launch at the Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund offices this morning expressed concern over the leaking of information from what Hobbs states was a closed session of Council have raised concerns.

Hobbs states that a Costco could generate hundreds of jobs in the city with wages in the $21.00/hour rate.
