Thunder Bay Police Update Field Street Suspicious Death Investigation

Help the Police, contact them at 684-1200 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.tipsubmit.com.THUNDER BAY – CRIME NEWS – Thunder Bay Police report that “A post mortem examination was scheduled to be performed today on the body of an adult male who was discovered by Thunder Bay Fire Rescue at approximately 10:00PM on July 18, 2014.

The discovery of a burned body was made following 911 calls from the public regarding a fire in the grassy area between the Harbour Expressway and Field Street.

The scene where the body was discovered will be held by police pending preliminary results from the post mortem exam. The area where the body was discovered has required additional forensic resources from the Ontario Provincial Police.

The identity of the deceased has yet to be confirmed. Investigators are treating this incident as a suspicious death.

A further update is expected following preliminary post mortem results.
