THUNDER BAY – Coffee to go has a whole new meaning with the addition of technology. The Canadian coffee icon Tim Hortons is adding new innovations to allow you to pay faster, and get sipping back your ‘Double-double’ even faster.

As part of its continued drive to innovate through technology, Tim Hortons has announced its TimmyMe™ App now includes support for Passbook, the most convenient way to access your Tim Card from the home screen on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

The company says, “Grabbing a quick coffee and tasty meal at Tim Hortons has never been so fast and so easy”.

“Tim Hortons is committed to offering the ultimate guest experience, and that includes leveraging technology to offer our guests faster, convenient service. The launch of mobile barcode payments with Passbook support lets us do just that,” said David Clanachan, Chief Operating Officer, Tim Hortons. “Our guests can now use their iPhone and iPad to make secure, quick and easy payments, which we hope will make their visit, coffee and meal with us even more enjoyable.”

The TimmyMe App offers guests a number of other exciting features to help stay connected with their beloved brand. From finding the closest Tim Hortons locations anywhere you are, to securing nutritional information for your favourite Tim Hortons menu item, to reloading your Tim Card, the TimmyMe App is the right tool for all Tims lovers. Canadian and U.S. guests are encouraged to download the TimmyMe App on their iOS device and add their prepaid Tim Card to Passbook, to then scan to pay in-restaurant or at the drive thru at participating locations.

TimmyMe is available for free from the App Store on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, or at www.AppStore.com/TimmyMe.
