THUNDER BAY – KASHECHEWAN – WEATHER – Deputy Chief Amos Wesley offers this update to the residents from Kashechewan:

“To inform the people of Kashechewan that were evacuated. I will be in a teleconference with Health Canada and AANDC at 1:30pm. We will do our best and do what we can to try to get things worked out in Kashechewan as soon as possible so we could bring you back home again.

“The #1 priority is the Nursing station, and the basement units that were flooded. Our river has receded.(gone down) I will update on you by today. Please wait for my update and do not listen to rumours”.

Fun Afternoon for Evacuees Planned

In Thunder Bay, Evacuees will be treated to a fun and free barbeque on Sunday Afternoon from 3-5 PM at the Victoria Inn. Local residents are coming together to provide a fun and stress reducing afternoon for the people who are here in the city.

If you want to drop off games, toiletries, to the people, there will be a bin at the Victoria Inn on Sunday afternoon during the Event.
