VANCOUVER – Sports – The Vancouver Marathon was won by Berhanu Mekonnen from Ethiopia. The winning time was 2:21:08.

Conditions were difficult with cloudy and wet rain. However over 13,000 runners were not daunted by the weather. Vancouver is the kind of city where if you let the rain interfere with your plans you would likely never get much done.
