NDP Promises Dollars and Equipment For Northern Roads

THUNDER BAY – Andrea Horwath has unveiled the New Democrat plan for northern highways road maintainance. The NDP leader states, “Photo opps and conversation isn’t enough”.

“Winter driving is a fact of life in Northern Ontario. Northerners deserve to feel safe on their roads, but reports of near misses and bad accidents keep coming,” stated the NDP leader speaking at the Valhalla Inn in Thunder Bay.

Press Conference

Horwath charges, “The government is good at making excuses about winter road maintenance but only the New Democrats have a plan to fix the sorry state of affairs by putting 200 new pieces of snow clearing equipment on Northern roads.”

In the community, and through the Northern Road Report, the NDP state, “Northerners have told New Democrats that they feel let down by the Liberal Government”.

Andrew Foulds, the Thunder Bay Superior North candidate for the New Democrats said, “I am so pleased that my leader Andrea Horwath was back again supporting the north. Her Announcements about infrastructure investment and improved safety proves how much she cares about the north”.

The New Democrat leader would not state if the New Democrats would vote down the Liberal Budget which will be brought down on Thursday. “New Democrats listen,” stated Horwath. Although it appears that the political parties are in almost full campaign mode, the budget will decide the fate of the Wynne Government.
